6 words that get me out of bed in the morning | Patrick Derham | TEDxWestminster School

This talk will explore the importance of service and giving back. Patrick will explain the origins of his motivation, briefly discussing his involvement with UK charities, while focusing on the two projects that have come to define his post-Westminster life: Crucible and Alsama. After studying History at Cambridge and teaching for 14 years, Patrick became Head Master of Solihull School in 1996, Rugby School in 2001, and Westminster School in 2014. After finishing his tenure at Westminster during the pandemic in 2020, he became involved in several projects, including two AI EdTech startups, serving as Chair of Trustees at Gladstone’s Library, and launching two overseas ventures, Crucible and Alsama. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
