What should change in education? | Pedro Santa-Clara | TEDxMarvila
In this thought-provoking TEDxMarvila talk, Pedro Santa-Clara challenges the outdated classroom model and calls for a complete rethink of how we learn. Reflecting on his own 20,000 hours in traditional education with little lasting impact, Pedro traces the roots of our schooling system and why it no longer serves today’s needs.
With the rise of AI and rapid technological change, he argues for new, student-driven models like School 42 and the Center for Creative Technologies. These pioneering approaches empower learners with real-world challenges, peer-to-peer learning, and a focus on creativity and adaptability — skills crucial for thriving in the future of work.
Pedro’s talk is a powerful invitation to abandon rigid, centralized systems and embrace flexible, human-centered education that unlocks the true potential of every learner.
