Echoes of a Melody: Music’s Power to Treat Alzheimer’s Disease | Devan Agrawal | TEDxMiltonAcademy
NOTE FROM TED: Research around music and dementia prevention remains an ongoing field of study. This TEDx event was independently organized by volunteers by and for a youth audience. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdf
At TEDx, Devan explores music’s power from a neurological perspective and specifically explains how it can combat dementia. Devan Agrawal is a high school senior from Boston. His interests in music and cognitive science were amplified after seeing the effect music had on his grandmother’s Alzheimer’s disease. Since then, he’s co-led Milton’s Psychology Club and the Piece of Mind cognitive science magazine. At TEDx, he will explore music’s power from a neurological perspective and specifically explain how it can combat dementia. In his free time, Devan likes to swim, play squash, sing in his school’s a cappella group, and play spirited card games with his family. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
