Nothing You Do Is Wrong | Jennifer Pastiloff | TEDxOjai
Nothing I do is wrong? It’s true- barring you aren’t intentionally hurting yourself or anyone else- but many people spend their lives believing limiting self-talk or waiting for external validation and permission to be who they want to be. With humor, heart, and poetry, best-selling author and artist Jen Pastiloff intimately shares her battle with shame, blame, and self-deceit in a way that will leave you feeling full of possibility and hope. Her vulnerability and humor will inspire you to become your own permission slip and to break up with your Inner Bully so you can fully be yourself, without apology. Jennifer Pastiloff trots the globe as a public speaker and to host her retreats to Italy, as well as her one-of-a-kind workshops, which she has taught to thousands of people all over the world. The author of the popular Substack, also called Proof of Life, she teaches writing and creativity classes called Allow, and workshops called Shame Loss, when she isn’t painting and selling her art. She has been featured on Good Morning America, and Katie Couric, and in New York magazine, People, Shape, Health magazine, and other media outlets for her authenticity and unique voice.
She is deaf, reads lips, and mishears almost everything, but what she hears is usually funnier (at least she thinks so). The author of the national bestseller On Being Human and the forthcoming Proof Of Life, Pastiloff lives in Southern California with her son, Charlie Mel. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
