How young people can rewrite the future | Kal Glanznig | TEDxCronulla High School Youth
Young people face an unprecedented challenge—rewriting the future in the face of a rapidly changing planet. In this inspiring talk, Kal Glanznig shares how hope lies in action, drawing from his journey leading his high school to install solar, tackling plastic pollution, eco-anxiety, and driving real policy change. He reveals how young people can break barriers, collaborate across generations, and create ripples of change in their communities.
Kal is an ocean advocate, documentary filmmaker, United Nations COP27 & COP28 delegate and the youngest councillor in the Sutherland Shire. He co-founded Plastic Free Cronulla, directed RISING UP, and leads Blue Minds, an initiative empowering thousands of young Australians. His mission: ensure the future isn’t written for young people—it’s written by them. Kal’s keynote will be on how young people can rewrite the future for the better. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
